CVH Foundation News: High tail it to CVH Foundation 5K Pokwer and Paw Walk Sept. 25--Something NEW and PAWSITIVELY enjoyable!

By Joan Miles
Cascade Valley Hospital Foundation Coordinator

Grab your walking shoes, family members, and the family pooch, then "high tail" it to the fourth annual fundraising 5K Poker and Paw Walk on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 10am.

This non-competitive fun walk is for all ages, families, groups and dog breeds. Each walker receives an envelope containing one poker card, collecting four more (in sealed envelopes) along the route. You and your dog follow a designated course through Arlington, beginning and ending at Cascade Valley Hospital (CVH). Refreshments will be available for you and your dog before and immediately following the walk.

This year, walkers are encouraged to put their best paw forward and collect pledges from family, friends, neighbors and colleagues. 100% of donations benefit CVH. Funds raised will be used to purchase external defibrillators for each of the eight CVHC clinics.

The three best poker hands receive prizes. The individual raising the most money will have their name engraved on a plaque displayed in the hospital and receive a one-year family membership to the Seattle Aquarium. The team raising the most money will also have their name engraved on a plaque. In order to qualify, pledge forms donations must be turned in by event day.

Cost:
Pre-registrants: $15/person through September 22
Day of registrants: $20/person
Dogs: $5 for a Poker and Paw 2004 Bandana and "doggie" bag.

All human registrants receive a specially designed T-shirt, and "goodie" bag.

Can't attend the walk? Are you a Cat Lover? A $5 donation places your name and/or pets name on a footprint or paw print card along the 5K course.

Pledge forms are available online or contact: Joan Miles, CVH Foundation (360) 435-2133 ext. 4705

All donations are tax-deductible.

Join us for this exciting, fun-filled morning event, with or without your four-legged friend!
