Reaching Out: CVH&C Relay for Life sponsor

Lace up your tennis shoes, pack your tent and sleeping bag, and join us at the Marysville Relay for Life, an annual event of the American Cancer Society. As one of this event's sponsors, CVH&C is putting together two teams. We will all enjoy music, food, contests, awards, and prizes. 24 hours of fun!

Teams of 8-12 members first raise contributions with the goal of supporting a cure for cancer. Then from 6 p.m. July 12 to 2 p.m. July 13, at least one member of the team will be walking or running on the Marysville/Pilchuck High School track.

If you are a cancer survivor you won't want to miss the cancer survivor's lap, which opens the Relay for Life. You can walk the initial lap, the first of one or many before you reach the finish line. This lap symbolizes the courage survivors and their families display and sustain in their lives.

Photo of Luminaria You'll also have the opportunity to recognize your loved ones with the evening luminaria ceremony. Lighted luminaries, sold by volunteers, are decorated with the names of cancer survivors and those lost to cancer. Placed around the track they will light the way for the runners and walkers.

If you want to be part of this community even, call LuAnne Carlson at 360-435-2133 or email her at: .
