Care Provider Focus: New providers mean easier access to local health care
In recent months there have been numerous news stories about doctors choosing to move out of Washington state and the national nursing shortage. All this paints a picture of there not being enough good health care providers.
While the problems are real, Cascade Valley Hospital and Clinics have been successful in recruiting 13 new providers to our community. They have joined us from as far away as Minnesota and we are excited to welcome them.

Cascade Valley Smokey Point Clinic (formerly Smokey Point Family Medicine) has added four new providers: Richard Jobe, MD, Ann Lower, ARNP, Ellyn Thoreen, ARNP and Tari Roche, DO.
After 30 years in private practice in downtown Seattle, Dr. Jobe finally had enough and wanted a quieter, slower pace. He specialized in Internal Medicine and enjoys developing personal relationships with his patients.

With 30 years experience in the military (both active and reserve duty), Ann Lower is a great addition to the walk-in side of the Smokey Point Clinic where she has been seeing patients since October. She believes health care to be a wonderful art that she enjoys sharing in a partnership between herself and her patients.
Ellyn Thoreen specializes in women's health care. Her prior position was at an Everett clinic, which recently had to close its doors. It is a testimony to her abilities that many of her former patients have chosen to follow her to Smokey Point Clinic.
Moving to the Northwest from California and living in Stanwood, Dr. Roche is pleased to join a clinic so close to home. She is a Doctor of Osteopathy, specializing in Family Practice, and has a deep devotion to woman's health care. She will begin seeing patients June 6.
Joining Dr. Emmanuel Yruma at Cascade Valley Arlington Internal Medicine (formerly North Cascade Internal Medicine) is Lyn Tonelli, MD. A love of hiking and biking, as well as family who live near Darrington, has drawn her back to this beautiful part of the country. She believes in listening to each patient's concerns, referring them for tests to help solve their health puzzle, and working with them to develop a plan to maintain a healthy, happy life.
Cascade Valley Arlington Women's Health (formerly Cascade Valley Women's Health) welcomes three new providers this summer. Both Ann Hoffman, DO and John Eggers, MD start at the clinic in July, with Evan Friese, MD joining them in September.
Dr. Hoffman joins the clinic from a busy Obstetric and Gynecology practice in Redlands, CA. She has enjoyed caring for the health of expectant mothers and all women for four years and is excited about becoming part of this community. She believes accessibility and caring are essential in working with the needs, concerns, and education of her patients.
Dr. Eggers has practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology for 13 years, most recently in Coupeville, WA where he was also Chief of Staff for Whidbey General Hospital. He has a special interest in minimally invasive, laparoscopic surgery and the benefits it offers women.
Dr. Friese and his wife and two small children will soon be moving here from Minnesota where he has been part of an OB/GYN clinic. He also taught for five years at the Minnesota School of Medicine, Department of OB/GYN.
